Can I run my own custom code in a workflow, and which languages are supported?
Yes. Add the Execute Code step to a workflow. It opens a code editor with terminal access, and the AI can write the code and run it for you, so you do not have to code yourself. It is the most flexible option for anything custom and for the most complex integrations: call an API, parse a file and split it into lines, and so on. You can install any dependencies you need (for example the Python requests library to make a POST request) and choose your runtime and compute.
Supported languages include Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Bash, R and Java. Python is generally the easiest to use.
The AI assistant also has its own computer, a sandbox with shell access where it can run code, which is how it builds apps. For example, you can ask it to find businesses on Google Maps, check their websites for a chat widget and compile the results into a CSV.
